The international trade demand for UV boards has soared, and the Southeast Asian market has become a growth engine

2025-11-05

Data shows that the global export volume of UV boards reached 587,000 tons in 2023, with China's export share exceeding 60%. In 2024, this momentum continued to expand. The total value of China's exports to Vietnam alone exceeded 350 million US dollars, with a year-on-year growth rate of 22%. Due to the accelerated urbanization process, the demand for home and commercial decoration in Southeast Asia is strong. The import volume of UV boards has maintained a growth rate of over 20% for three consecutive years, making it the fastest-growing regional market in the world.
The unique advantages of UV boards have become the core competitiveness for them to break through in overseas markets. This product features water and moisture resistance, fire resistance, wear resistance, and easy cleaning. It also conforms to the global environmental protection trend and is widely used in kitchen and bathroom decoration, hotel and shopping mall decoration, as well as public places such as schools and hospitals. The head of a leading export enterprise stated that the personalized customization capability achieved through technological upgrades has enabled the products to successfully enter the high-end markets of Europe and America, and the small-batch customization orders through cross-border e-commerce channels have increased by 45% year-on-year.
Industrial upgrading and policy dividends form a dual support. Domestic enterprises have achieved breakthroughs in environmental protection processes and product diversity by improving industrial chain collaboration and increasing R&D investment. Many of their products have passed the EU CE certification and REACH regulation testing. Meanwhile, the entry into force of regional trade agreements such as RCEP has reduced tariff costs. UV Board export industrial clusters have been formed in Shandong, Guangdong and other places. Leading enterprises like C Company have even set up branches in Southeast Asia. In 2023, the export volume exceeded 500 million yuan.
Industry experts caution that despite the promising outlook, potential risks still need to be guarded against. Problems such as fluctuations in raw material prices and the rise of technical barriers in some markets need to be addressed urgently. The China Building Decoration Materials Association suggests that enterprises strengthen the traceability management of raw materials, obtain targeted market certifications, and at the same time lay out the research and development of green production technologies. It is predicted that with the recovery of global infrastructure investment, the global export volume of UV boards is expected to exceed 850,000 tons in 2025, and the scale of international trade will reach a new high.
